      1. There was a long time between when this match was announced to when it actually happened, 5 or 6 months. I think it was November of last year when Jen earned this shot. Let me reiterate, in an earlier post I stated I was hoping for a follow up, to a more decisive victory. I thought about it, and I am fine with the match, it just lost steam over time. For example Pacquio vs Mayweather circa 2009/2010, white hot on the lips and hearts of fight fans, now the attitude is just get it over with.

  1. I have mixed feelings. I don’t believe Mack should win against veterans without an intangible: luck, distraction, or something else. (Note: beating Tania was OK since she’s retired). Mack is already accomplished in BSF; if she’s also a “legit” BWL champ, then she’s essentially good at everything. Nobody on the roster should be perfect.

But winning by trickery is Jenn’s specialty (which I love her for), but I’m not sure the league needs another like her.

I thought the vibrating ball angle was a good one, because then Mack’s victory wouldn’t be considered a pure win on skill. In fact, I’d be fine if Mack maintains her championship with match stipulations like this one. It levels the playing field against the veterans.

I almost never comment and now two in a day. Must be trying to take my mind off the MTL game. 🙂

  2. I am fine with Mack winning, I was just hoping for a little more after a six month delay

      1. Yeah I think it was sometime in November of 2013 when Jen earned this title shot. Its May now so six months give or take days.

  3. more Spoilerishness…

Great fight and great concept but I didn’t like what the ending made of Mac whereas ironically it would have been quite in character for Jenn.

I tend to agree with Rpierz here, was hoping Mac would turn out a bit different and that the Mac/Megan connection would be about developing some real skills to patch their weaknesses along with fuelling a desire to prove those skills as the difference makers to the less ‘lawful’ league members. In essence give them elements that work to enhance and contrast their style and approach as compared to the league mainstream.

    1. It would be short. As much as I like underdogs like Mack & Kandice, I’m also realistic. Unless that match happens to be a sexfight type of thing Mimi would mop the floor with Mackenzie, it’s just a question of how quick it’d be over.

      1. I am not sure realism is something to champion here on any level. Better to look to the contrasts strength vs skill, ambition vs determination, power vs flexibility, experience vs hunger etc. Yes certain environments will favour certain fighters but the best fights and the most interesting contests are ones won or lost in the mind.

  4. Rpierz I am pretty sure “the tapes” Theo is talking about is what we’re watching, so he cannot miss what happened. I am hoping it leads to a follow up fight with a more decisive finish.

On another note, what a bizarre concept to experiment with in a title match.

  5. *Possible spoilers*

If the vid don’t pick up on how Mack won the fight I’d be surprised, it’ll probably still count on a technicality though. I would’ve preferred her to win due to Megans tutelage. She got her win but boy should it feel hollow.

    1. I’m not a big fan of Mack as the champion but you have to love the fact that she did a very Jen like cheapshot to beat Jen
