Melanie has scored major victories against strong, respected BWL fighters, winning 9 of her 11 fights, but there is one fighter she’s been eager to face, one fighter who can establish her reputation as a powerhouse: Mimi. So what better way for her to begin 2019?

While I usually write to comment Entropy (and Sherlock) on the writing, this time it’s all just the visual storytelling.
There’s not much to the story here…narratively we get a pretty efficient set-up of their motivations, but it’s not much that hasn’t already been set up previous; Melanie wants to prove herself, so the stakes for her are her 10th win against a markedly tough opponent, and Mimi is still struggling with her recent lose of confidence going all the way back to the doubt instilled in her after being so dominated twice over by Candy (two of my favorite Mimi stories).
These are not criticisms! It’s actually WHY I enjoyed this story…the BWL universe is a serialized one, and I’m always impressed by the way Entropy and Sherlock keep all these balls in the air and figure out how to generate some business between so many characters, particularly when a lot of the time they rarely interact or have beef with each other.
I like the narrative efficiency of calling back to Mimi’s struggle with Candy and having Melanie serve as a proxy. This gives the fight some emotional depth and stakes.
But more than anything…this fight is just a GREAT example of it not just the STORY being told…it’s HOW it’s told that makes for a great story.
Entropy delivers on the promise of the title; Melanie and Mimi are among the strongest (if not THE two strongest…my personal theory is that if we were to rate them by pure physical strength it would go Mimi then Melanie, then France/Megan, etc etc) BWL girls, and this fight puts that to great use.
While narratively simple, the fight make up for it with pure SPECTACLE. Feats of strength and brutality we’ve rarely seen, and a just SPECTACULAR finish! I’m honestly a bit curious about the repercussions of this fight and if Melanie is badly injured…and how this will affect her not just physically, but mentally. She’s become a fast favorite of mine, and I hope she endures.
Meanwhile, I’m also very curious to see Mimi face her demon in Candy again…regardless of the results (I have thing for people losing repeatedly for reasons they can’t control, so I wouldn’t be broken up if Candy dominated her again despite her new resolve. 😛 ).

Finally: Mimi is on her way to defeating her demons. It’s been a long time since she lost to Candy twice, but she thinks of her defeats in almost every fight. It’s time for her to visit Candy, defeat her, and regain her self-confidence. For me, Mimi is still by far the strongest and most attractive fighter. Maybe she needs a trainer in sexfights before. Desiree could be an interesting partner. Mimi has the power, Desiree the sexual ability. Both could learn from each other and get better. For me an ideal couple.
